Jeremy Allaire
Jeremy Allaire (born in 1971) is an American entrepreneur and founder of digital currency company Circle. He is also a chairman of the Board of Brightcove, Massachusetts-based software company.

Life before crypto
Jeremy Allaire was educated in the Montessori tradition, which made him independent and responsible from the young age. In 1993 he received a double-major in political science and philosophy at Macalester Colledge. While studying in college, Allaire got acquainted with the internet and started his experiments. In that time he and his friend created a news aggregator application ‘World News Report.’ Furthermore, he developed a decentralized communication program for tribal schools and an Internet-consulting firm, Global Internet Horizons, aimed at helping media publishers and marketers understand and build a presence on the nascent World Wide Web.
Career
In 1995, Jeremy and his brother J.J. founded web company Allaire Corporation. The main goal of Allaire Corporation was to provide easy-to-use web development tools. The brothers also invented ColdFusion, a rapid web application development platform designed to easily connect simple HTML pages to a database using its associated scripting language, ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML). It was widely utilized by big companies, including Myspace and Target. In one year it expanded to North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. In 2001, Allaire Corp. was purchased by Macromedia. Jeremy became CTO of Macromedia. Macromedia developed drive platforms, including Flash Player.
In 2003, Allaire became a technologist in General Catalyst Partners, an American venture capital firm focused on early stage and growth investments. There Allaire decided to improve mobile content and internet identity and security. While working in General Catalyst Partners, Allaire started the development of Brightcove. In 2004, he founded the online-video platform.
Circle
In October 2013, Allaire founded Circle, a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency technology company. In April 2016, the UK government approved Circle’s first virtual currency license. Circle is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
