Early years

Silbert began his career as an investment banker with Houlihan Lokey. He graduated cum laude from Hermori University Business School and has a license of 7, 24 and 63.

Digital Currency Group

DCG was founded in 2015 with the investment of MasterCard, the Canadian bank CIBC, the venture fund Trans America Ventures and so on. The Digital Currency Group is an active investor in the digital currency industry. The company has invested in companies such as BitGo, Bitpay, BitPagos, BitPesa, Chain, Circle (company), CoinBase, Gyft, Kraken, Ripple Labs, TradeBlock, Unocoin and Xapo.

In 2016, the DCG investment company acquired CoinDesk, one of the leading online magazines for cryptocurrency and the digital world.

Bitcoin Investment Trust

Silbert founded the Bitcoin Investment Trust (BIT), a private open trust. BIT stocks are the first listed securities (their GBTC ticker) that are fully dependent on the value of Bitcoin.

Second Market

Prior to founding DCG, Silbert founded Second Market, a platform that enables private companies and mutual funds to more effectively raise capital and provide liquidity to interested parties by simplifying complex transaction processes, optimizing investor relations and verifying their accreditation.
