Bonafide (Bonifide.io)

Bonafide built trust by allowing users to promote their community reputation or even identity. While Bitcoin transactions are anonymous there are many cases where identity is known. An example would be a retail location that accepts Bitcoins. A customer could be presented with a bill for meal with a QRC to make a payment. Without Bonafide there is no way for the customer to confirm that the address ties to the restaurant.

As of 30 November, 2015, Bonafide IO, Inc. went out of business. Bonafide IO, Inc. operates a communications platform that facilitates the connection between individuals and organizations seeking to establish trust and reputation in the bitcoin community. Its platform allows participants in a bitcoin transaction to rate and review each other; enables consumers to bring their bitcoin together by linking their public addresses from various wallets to their Bonafide account; allows consumers to bring their social and bitcoin services together; and incentivizes merchants to accept bitcoin by providing customer analytics and a bitcoin loyalty program. The company was founded in 2013.
